By 1992, the Mega Drive - renamed Genesis for the North American market - had overtaken its competitors to become the best-selling video game console worldwide, selling nearly 40 million units in its lifetime. This revolutionary console marked a turning point, bringing the thrilling arcade experience into the homes of millions.

A Design Ahead of Its Time

The Mega Drive's industrial design was a paradigm shift in the gaming industry. It departed from the conventional boxy, toy-like console designs of its time. Instead, it fused cutting-edge 1980s hi-fi aesthetics with typographic motifs inspired by performance sports cars. Typeface

The retro pixel font aims at evoking a sense of nostalgia and paying tribute to the 16-bit era of graphics. The 16-bit resolution refers to the graphical capabilities of early video game consoles from the 1980s and 1990s.
